Unique addition to your collection - an antique Apache revolver, circa 1880!

In the late 19th century, gangs of robbers made the streets of Paris unsafe. One of these gangs called themselves Apaches de Belleville, and its members, like many other Parisian criminals, carried a special weapon that was easy to hide in a coat pocket.

The weapon became known as Apache revolver, and the word Apache meant something like 'hooligan' in the time before World War I.

Many criminals left one of the revolver's six chambers empty because the weapon had no safety, which meant it sometimes accidentally went off when they carried the revolver in their pocket.

The revolver did not have a barrel, so it could only aim at a short distance. The knife could be folded, so the criminal did not injure himself. The buckler gave extra striking power and protected the knuckles during hand-to-hand combat.
