We are an official and award-winning taxidermy company

Mounting cat pet

What do you do when your cat passes away and you haven’t had the chance to say goodbye? If cremation or burial doesn’t feel right, there is an alternative: cat taxidermy. This way, you give your beloved pet a dignified second life and keep the memory tangibly close.

Preserving your cat can be a valuable part of the grieving process. It brings comfort to still have your cat with you. We offer several options for cat preservation.

Our award-winning taxidermists have many years of experience in cat taxidermy, as well as dogs and other animals. You are in good hands if you want to give your cat a new life through taxidermy.

Have your cat preserved

Our taxidermists understand the deep bond between people and their cats. That’s why we take the time to go through all the steps of the process with you carefully. You can choose to have your cat preserved, the skeleton mounted, or just the skull saved.

When your cat passes away

Don’t wait too long. It is essential to freeze your deceased cat as soon as possible to prevent deterioration. Don’t have a freezer at home? Visit our store De Museumwinkel in Nijmegen right away. We can temporarily store your cat in our special freezer.

The taxidermy process of cat preservation

Submitting photos

If you choose to preserve your cat, we ask you to provide clear reference photos. These help us recreate your cat as realistically as possible. Please consider the following points when sending the photos:

  • The pose you’d like your cat to be in
  • The eye color
  • The head, preferably from multiple angles
  • Other features that are important to you

Send your photos, including your name and your cat’s name, to: [email protected]

Working process

No one knows your cat better than you. That’s why we offer two adjustment moments during the taxidermy process (worth €150), so you can actively contribute to the result.

Once your cat is preserved, we’ll contact you to go over any final details or wishes.

Timeframe and pickup

Preserving a cat typically takes 12 to 16 months. Once the process is completed, you can pick up your preserved cat from our store in Nijmegen.

Cat preservation price

The cost of cat taxidermy depends on various factors, such as your cat’s size, the desired pose, and fur type. We always discuss this beforehand, so you’ll know what to expect. The cat preservation price depends on your personal wishes.

If you would also like the remaining remains of your cat cremated after preservation, we can arrange that through our partner, Dierencrematorium Nijmegen-Arnhem. We handle the transport for €55.
