Our Taxidermists Are Here for You

Our taxidermists are very aware of the strong bond between you and your pet. Therefore, we take the time to thoroughly discuss all steps and options with you. For example, you can choose to have your pet mounted, keep the skull, or preserve the skeleton.

When Your Pet Passes Away

Don’t hesitate too long. It’s important to freeze your pet promptly to avoid damage (within 12-24 hours). If you don’t have a freezer at home, come directly to our store De Museumwinkel in Nijmegen. We will store your pet in our freezer for you.

The Taxidermy Process of Your Pet

Submitting Photos

If you choose to have your pet preserved, we will ask for reference photos. We aim to preserve your pet as naturally as possible. Therefore, it’s important to select good photos within a month that clearly show the following aspects:

  • The pose in which you would like your pet preserved.
  • The eye color.
  • The head, ideally from multiple perspectives.
  • Other features that are important to you.

Please send the photos with your name and your pet’s name to [email protected].

Working Process

No one knows your pet better than you. Therefore, our process includes two feedback moments, each worth 150 Euros.

Once your pet is preserved, we will contact you to review if any adjustments are needed.

Delivery Time and Pickup

The preservation process takes several months. For birds, it takes 4-6 months, for dogs and cats, 12-16 months. Once the work is completed, we will contact you to arrange the pickup of your pet at our store in Nijmegen.

Costs

The cost of preservation varies. The price depends, among other factors, on the size of the animal, the type of fur, and the desired pose. Please contact us to discuss your wishes.

Cremation

It is possible to have the remaining body of your pet cremated. For this, we work with the Pet Crematorium Nijmegen-Arnhem. Please contact the crematorium directly to organize the cremation.

We can prepare the animal for transport to the crematorium and take it there for you. We charge 55 Euros for this service.
