Nicely preserved mosasaurus skull on special stand.
Period: 65 to 75 million years ago (Cretaceous)
Origin: Morocco
Mosasaurus were large dinosaurs that were toppredators in the water. Several fossils of as much as 18 metres long. They were widely spread but most specimens are found around the Atlantic Ocean. The first find, a skull, was found in 1780 by the Dutch Maas-river, after which the species has been named.
