Productinformation

Unprecedentedly unusual claw of a cave bear. Dated about 20,000 years old and about 15% restored.

Species: Ursus spelaeus
Origin: Europe and Asia

The cave bear was a large bear species that lived during the Pleistocene (300,000-15,000 BC). It occurred in large parts of Europe, from southern England to the Caucasus. Male specimens could be up to 3.5 metres tall when standing on their hind legs and weigh up to around 1,000 kilos. This is about three times the weight of an average European brown bear.
