The malabar parakeet or dove parakeet is a bird in the family Psittaculidae (parrots of the Old World). They occur in small flocks and fly quickly in forest clearings. Their long blue tails with yellow tips and dark wings with blue, contrast with the dull grey of their head and body. Adult males and females are easy to tell apart by the colour of their beaks.
