Productinformation

This remarkable specimen shows the vascular system of a human placenta, made visible by means of a corrosion cast. In this preparation technique, the network of blood vessels is filled with a special resin. The surrounding tissue is then dissolved, leaving a detailed impression of the vascular system.

The result is an impressive and complex network of branching blood vessels that shows how the placenta functions during pregnancy. This organ transports oxygen and nutrients from the mother to the child, while removing waste products.

Corrosion preparations are widely used in anatomy and biology to better study the structure of blood vessels and organs. This specimen therefore offers a fascinating insight into human anatomy and impressively demonstrates how refined and complex the placenta's vascular system is.

The specimen is carefully presented in a frame and is a special object for biologists, medical students, educational institutions and collectors of anatomical specimens and curiosities.
