Charmosyna stellae
Origin: New Guinea
The scientific name of this species was first validly published in 1886 by Adolf Bernhard Meyer and named after the Austrian baroness Stella Erggelet. The species was long considered a subspecies of the papuan alori. The species lives in mountain forests between 1500 and 3100 metres altitude. In its range, there is a temperature difference between day and night that can reach 20 °C.
